Poem for Amanda & Chris
Created by Random 10 years ago
I had written this poem about a year ago. One of the most recent times I saw Amanda, we were talking about poetry and I decided to show her this poem; she said she really liked it and even pointed out her favorite lines from it. I would like to dedicate this to Amanda and Christopher Firor.
You and me,
Like waves in the sea
Drift apart,
Just occasionally.
Like the rays of the sun,
Or a fresh baked bun,
You are the source
Of energy and warmth.
Like trash discarded
Haphazardly,
Life threw us apart,
So cruelly.
What could I do,
Except play a fool,
drown in my sorrow
and grief filled pool?
Fish in the sea
Swim joyously
Until they're caught in a net.
But honey don't fret,
with confidence I bet,
That you and me,
like waves in the sea,
together one day,
we'll surely be.
R.I.P. Amanda, you will always live on in our hearts.
